This company was created in 2017 to encourage women to prioritize their wellness by creating self-care routines that are effortless. Enjoyable and easy to fit into their day. These products turn drab skin routines into a self-care routine. The company was founded by a young mom and wife in her early 30’s who wanted to make a difference in skincare for women of color. This company was specifically created for women who want to fit “self-care” into their day, by making it effortless and enjoyable. Paula Gibbs is a graduate of the University of Illinois (Edwardsville) and after being laid off from her first job, she and her husband Chris decided to establish a company that is known for its top-quality all natural products. They wanted products that made women look and feel good. The newsletter or social media posts offer, self-care tips, motivational quotes/stories, and discussions to learn more about customers’ needs.

The Melanated Bar products are sold throughout the United States, Internationally and online. In 2023, they reached up to 1 million dollars in sales and is expected to reach 2 million in sales by the end of 2024.
